CHAN 2016 UPDATES: NIGERIA REMAINS TOP OF GROUP C DESPITE DRAW.....VIA@sportsbtwest3

Nigeria retained her spot as the top ranked team of group C in the 2nd match day for the group as they played out a 1-1 draw with Tunisia.


Hat trick hero for Nigeria against Niger  as a substitute started this match against Tunisia and continued to threaten the North African side and got the first goal of the game courtesy of a pass from Osas Okoro in the 52nd minute


Ahmed Akiachi got the leveler for Tunisia 17 minutes after Nigeria had gotten the lead  leaving this group undecided as niger plated a 2-2 draw against Guinea.

Nigeria passed a chance to qualify for the next round after two matches, and must beat guinea in the last match day of the group stage to be sure of qualification.

Nigeria is top with 4 points
Tunisia 2nd with 2 points.
Guinea 3rd with 2 points
Niger 4th with one point.



DR Congo beat Angola 4-2 to clinch their place in the quarter-finals of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda on Thursday, while Cameroon were held 0-0 by Ethiopia.

The Congolese became the second team to reach the last eight of the competition, joining hosts Rwanda, while Angola were eliminated after a second straight defeat.

 Midfielder Nelson Munganga scored for Florent Ibenge's side ahead in the eighth minute when he scored from a rebound and  Meschak Alia added the second ten minutes later.

Jonathan Bolingi added his name to the scoresheet with the third in the 38th minute for a 3-0 half-time lead.

Angola grabbed a lifeline in the 75th minute when Gelson Dala, following a solo run, split apart the DR Congo defence before finishing off with his left foot.

But DR Congo put the result beyond doubt with an 82nd-minute header from Merveille Bope, with Yano's effort a minute later not enough for Angola, who were knocked out of the 16-team competition.

Ethiopia drew against Cameroon in the second match to stay alive in the competition.


Rwanda tops group A(AFTER 2 MATCHES)  with 6 points and have made it to the next round

 while Gabon and Morocco each have a point.

DR Congo lead with 6 points and are through to the next round

Cameroun 2nd with 4 points


Ethiopia 3rd with a point

Angola with 0 point are out of this tournament.


in group D (AFTER ONE MATCH)

Zambia lead with 3 points

Mali 2nd with a point

Uganda has a point

Zimbabwe 4th with no point.


WITH 4 GOALS IN 2 MATCHES WILL CHISOM CHIKATARA END THE TOURNAMENT AS THE HIGHESTE GOAL SCORER?
