WHY SAMSON SIASIA CAN LEAD THE DREAM TEAM TO GLORY AT THE OLYMPICS 2016 @LMCNPFL @colinudoh @mightygeorgeng @NGsupereagles @optaNGR......via@sportsbywest3

AFTER leading the dream team to glory at the African level by winning the CAF U-23 CHAMPIONSHIP (now known as the U-23 AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS) last year, thereby securing a ticket and qualifying for the Olympics which is set to hold in Brazil this year 2016,  all eyes will be on Nigeria's dream team as the champions of a great continent AFRICA. The reasons for this gaze is not far fetched, Nigeria cruised to the CAF U-23 CHAMPIONSHIP in grand style, beating Algeria 2-1 in the final. It was not all about the final alone though, as Samson Siasia's team showed attacking entertaining flair right from the group stage and never deviated from this style on their way to winning this tournament.
 Samson Siasia.

Nigeria has a rich history in this tournament, having won it in 1996 with the likes of Kanu Nwankwo and Austin Jay Jay Okocha who went on to dominate Africa and the world at large after the tournament, that alone is a big feat given the fact that a country like BRAZIL who has won the FIFA world cup five times has h never won the Olympics.

The Olympics football tournament  will be a great opportunity for SAMSON SIASIA to further enhance his coaching profile, and a very wonderful avenue for the players to demonstrate why they have the potential to go on to dominate the world after the tournament as most of them are below the age of 23, and at this stage in soccer, one's career is only about to begin and a bright future can be predicted.

SAMSON SIASIA

HERE ARE A FEW REASONS WHY SAMSON SIASIA CAN LEAD THE DREAM TEAM TO GLORY:

(1)   SAMSON SIASIA IS VASTLY EXPERIENCED:  The importance of having a vastly experienced coach at the helms of affairs of a football team cannot be overly emphasized. Samson Siasia is not new to age grade competitions as he led the flying eagles to the final of the u-20 world youth championship in 2005, only losing to Argentina 2-1 in the final, and he led the dream team to the final of the Olympics football tournament in 2008, again, losing the final in 2008, getting a silver medal.
Also, he was also the coach of the Super Eagles between 2010 and 2011. Samson Siasia also led Nigeria's U-23 team to win the inaugural intercontinental cup in Malaysia in may 2008, a tournament most teams that participated in the Olympics of that same year.
MIKEL OBI IN 2005.

IN SAMSON SIASIA, one can easily say the dream team is safely in the hands of a man that is vastly experienced and has a winning mentality, the players can therefore bank on his exposure both as a coach and as a footballer to lead the team to glory at Rio De Janiero 2016.
THE OLYMPICS TEAM OF 2008 CELEBRATING A GOAL.

There is a wide school of thought that Nigeria failed to qualify for the Olympics in 2012 was because Samson Siasia was no longer the coach of the dream team of that set, while one  cannot deny the fact that Austin Eguavoen, the coach that failed to qualify the team to London Olympics is experienced, there are differences, Austin had a great team to work with, and had all the support of the NFF, so really, there was no excuse a failure. People on this school of thought seem to be correct with their argument as Samson Siasia in his second time coming as utilized the vast level of experience he has with discipline as his watchword to secure qualification for Olympics 2016.

(2)  AN   ARRAY OF PLAYERS TO PICK: Having a good coach with all the experience in the world is great, but to consolidate this, the coach will need important players in key areas that can do justice and give the team the much needed win.

Given the fact that for the Olympics football tournament  proper, each participating team will be allowed to bring in 3 overage players, every team will be looking forward to this opportunity and countries with the best individual players in the world will grab this opportunity with both hands.

For host country like Brazil, 2015 FIFA Ballon D'or third best player in the world, NEYMAR has declared his intention to represent brazil at this year's Olympics, after suffering a heart break in 2012 Olympics final, other countries that have qualified like Germany can call on players like Ozil, Muller and the likes, Portugal can call on C.Ronaldo, Argentina can call on Lionel Messi who led them to glory at the 2008 Olympics.

This begs the question, who can Nigeria call on?

FEAR NOT  Nigerians, this dream team led by Samson Siasia is already good enough having quality players in every department like 2015  CAF AWARD MOST PROMISING TALENT AWARD WINNER ETEBO, a midfielder who scored 5 goals as Nigeria on the CAF U-23 NATIONS CUP.

2015   CAF AWARRDS BEST YOUTH PLAYER AWARD WINNER, VICTOR OSIMHEN, who scored 10 goals as Nigeria's Golden Eaglets won the FIFA u-17 football tournament and played a part as Nigeria won the CAF U-23 NATIONS CUP.

The good news is that Samson Siasia will have a selection head ache as to who the over age players he can add to a very good squad without disrupting their pattern of play and making everyone happy at the same time.

(a) ODION IGHALO: WATFORD striker Odion Ighalo has set the English league on fire this season, a striker who scored 20 goals to help Watford gain promotion the EPL has continued his goal rich form and with 13 goals in the EPL in the 2015/2016 season, he is in a race to win the golden boot having scored more goals than established strikers like Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero. HE has been named the EPL BEST PLAYER for December 2015 and his achievements has attracted transfer rumours from EPL giants ARSENAL AND MANCHESTER UNITED who are interested in his services.

 (b) AHMED MUSA:
CAPTAIN  of the Super Eagles team Ahmed Musa is another option for Samson Siasia, a man always ready to serve his nation at any time, who has scored 10 goals and three assists for his team mates already this season, with the formation Samson's siasia's team used at the U-23 AFCON tournament, it can be said that the team lacked a true winger in the squad, so here is a winger who is fast, and can play effectively on both flanks.

(c) JOHN MIKEL OBI: A player discovered by Samson Siasia himself, John Mikel Obi is one that divides opinion amongst the Super Eagles fans as to whether he always gives his best for the team as compared to when he is playing for Chelsea football club or England or he should play as an attacking midfielder or a defensive midfielder.

As a player with Samson Siasia at the World Youth Championship, IN 2005, Mikel was voted the 2nd best player of the tournament behind only Lionel Messi.  Nigerians still rate him highly because of that tournament, and as  he his now getting more playing time with new Chelsea manager, Guus Hiddink, which will give him confidence, working with Siasia again at the Olympics will be working with a manager who put him under the limelight and trusted him while he was relatively yet unknown, so why not again?

OTHER  players that Samson Siasia can still add to his squad includes Kelechi Iheanacho who is infact still within the age bracket for this tournament, the youngster needs no introduction and he currently plays  for Manchester City football club of England.

He was the revelation of the year 2013 as Nigeria went on to win the fifa u-17 world cup that year. although  at Manchester city, he has not started a lot of matches, his potential has been there for all to see whenever he does come on, scoring a memorable last minute winner against crystal palace few minutes after coming on in the league, and providing a couple of assists and scoring in cup competitions. the Olympics in brazil will be an opportunity to remind city of his talent and not sign any other striker for the 2016/2017 football season.

Isaac Success is another player within the required age bracket that Samson Siasia can still add to his squad for the Olympics in brazil, a striker for Granada fc in Spain.  engagement with his club denied him the chance to be part of the all conquering dream team that won the CAF U-23 championship in 2015, with the Olympics starting after the close of the regular season in terms of club football, success should be available for selection.

other players like Musa Muhammed, Kelechi Nwakali are under the age of 23, and weere part of the u-17 team set of 2013. also players like Prince Aggreh, Tunde Adeniji, Osas Okoro and Chikatara who recently scored a hat trick for the home based super eagles can be considered for the dream team. Tt must be noted that Tunde  Adeniji, and Chikatara are both below 23 years old, and with great performances for Nigeria at the CHAN 2016 tournament, they could be considered for the dream team. There is also chidiebere Nwakali and Samuel nwabueze who won the best player award and 3rd best player awards respectively at the 2015 fifa u-17 tournament who can be considered/ re-considered.
In  all, there is no need to make much alterations to a winning team, so as not to alter their game pattern, and for there to be continuity, however, a drop in form on the part of players that won the CAF u-23 tournament or injuries to some of this players can make Siasia to add/remove players before he names the squad of players going to brazil with him.

IN CONCLUSION, banking on the vast experience of Samson Siasia, coupled with the array of good players available to him, and his high level of discipline, with his commitment,  Nigeria is set to win the men's tournament at the Olympics in BRAZIL, what will spur them on?
over 150 million Nigerians who are wishing them luck, we therefore call on the NFF and all government agencies to provide all what Samson Siasia and his boys will need to go for gold in Brazil, putting in mind that this is Nigeria's most realistic hope of getting a medal at brazil Olympics in 2016, & PUTTING IN MIND THAT FAILURE TO PREPARE IS PLANNING TO FAIL.
